International Driving Permit

Dear fellow Traveler, thank you for your interest in the ANTA (American National Travel Alliance) International Driving Permit (IDP).

This permit is valid, as per the Geneva Convention on International Road Traffic, signed into international law on September 19, 1949. This is an treaty that regulates international  motor traffic, of which the United States became a member in 1952.

With this permit you can lawfully drive in over 200 countries, including the united States (with the exception of Indonesia—its country of origin). This permit needs to be used with the Foreign National Drivers License (FDL) to validate the FNDL.
